1. Boxing
Boxing is the king of first place, it is a sport in which it can be very hard for a human to win in a single match. In ESPN’s ranking, boxing is among the most difficult sports because it draws on an athlete’s ability to be strong, fast, and mentally resilient, you know? All in all, it is characterized by the almost continuous pain and trauma that the athletes go through round after round. There is no time to rest, the athlete must always be on the defensive, go on the offensive, and use his brain, all while pain and fatigue waiting to be there, you know, hit you hard.

2. Ice hockey
Ice hockey is not just about skating, it is also about speed, balance, and the ability to withstand a lot of physical impact, you know? The players, on the other hand, are real chasers, they run extremely fast on the ice and hit the puck with a stick, all of this while they are usually at the same pace as a fast vehicle. According to ESPN, this sport, however, occupies a distant second place after boxing in terms of its raw physicality and agility requirements, and that’s true

3. Rugby
The main thing that rugby has in common with football is the brutality of the game that players go through which is common for all footballers, right? The players have no time to recover, since it is a fluid movement, full contact is allowed even at the cost of tackling. Just so you know though, receipt of a hit and a tackle are part of the game, and together the assemblage of strength, stamina, and fullness of the collisions means that rugby is one of the most physically demanding sports worldwide. If you just want to test how much endurance, strength, and stamina you have, just play a match of Rugby and you’ll find that out soon.

4. Water Polo
Sure, Water Polo is kinda an underrated sport, but it is not as nearly as easy as you might think. This is, in experts’ opinion, one if not the hardest sport for players because it’s a fast-moving sport. It requires an appropriate amount of water treading which shall be manageable and a pretty active swimming. The challenge comes from the fact that the players are always on the surface of the water, there is no land to help them. Thus, water polo is a real test of strength, stamina, team tactics, and effort brought by the players. Upper body strength, endurance, and sharp strategy are but some of the essential must-haves with this one.

5. Wrestling
Wrestling requires that you are physically strong, that you have the skills of good technique, and that you have the spirit of pure will to win, you know? ESPN classifies it as the toughest sport due to its physicality and the degree of mental focus needed, and we kinda agree with that. Wrestling tests all its components at once, you know, quick reflexes, persistence, and mental assets.
